(Installation at Krowswork, Oakland, CA. Made in collaboration with film maker Omar Mahfoudi, Morocco.)
This was a video installation in collaboration with film maker Omar Mahfoudi from Morocco. It was installed as part of my solo exhibition titled "The Civilized Wild" at Krowswork in Oakland. For this exhibition I explored the length of the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct from its source atop Mt. Dana in Yosemite to the Pulgas Water Temple in Woodside, CA. This piece represents the journey I took and the landscape I experienced. The installation is meant to represent the journey of the San Francisco water supply and its transformation from a wild river to a domesticated water supply. The video was created by Omar Mahfoudi using images from I photographed a long my journey as animations frames which were then painted on top of to create a stop-motion animation. The soundtrack is from a Jazz musician playing a destroyed piano.
